General Admissions Requirements
To apply for undergraduate admittance to Neumont College of Computer Science, a potential student must submit the following documents for review:
- Application for Admission
- High school and/or college transcripts
- Additional academic performance records such as standardized tests (ACT or SAT), military credits, or documentation of a homeschool curriculum, if applicable.
Applicants are evaluated for their academic potential, technical knowledge, and level of motivation. Students may apply for admittance during all published admission periods.
All students may be required to take courses or portions of courses online. All students, including both online and residential, will be required to complete an online readiness assessment during the admissions process.
Incoming students must have earned a high school diploma or equivalent prior to enrolling and attending classes. Students who have completed a homeschooled curriculum must provide proof of completion of homeschooling at the secondary level as defined by law in their home state. Homeschooled students should work with their admissions counselor to determine the appropriate documentation needed to demonstrate high school diploma equivalency.
Students must submit a final official high school or college transcript documenting a graduation date, a GED, or other acceptable proof of high school diploma equivalency prior to enrollment. All records submitted to the college become the property of Neumont College of Computer Science as part of each student’s permanent record and are not returnable.
Note: New first year bachelor's degree students are automatically enrolled in the Computer Science program for their first three quarters.
Foreign Transcripts
Non-English transcripts and documents must be submitted in their original form, accompanied by a certified English translation. If the institution attended was not a U.S. institution, the transcript must be evaluated by a credential-evaluation service that is a member of NACES at the applicant’s own expense. Transfer Students
Neumont may award transfer credit from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for courses that meet our evaluation criteria. Courses taken at a foreign institution are accepted based on a NACES evaluation. Credit may be accepted only for college-level courses in which a grade of C or higher was earned, upon receipt of an official transcript. The number of credits awarded for a course will not exceed the number of credits offered for the related Neumont course.
Transfer Credit Policy
Transfer credit for a Neumont course must be comparable to the Neumont course for content and general outcome requirements. The Office of the Registrar will review for potential transfer credits based on official transcripts submission. A course description from the original institution’s catalog or class syllabus for the time period the course was taken may be requested. The school may accept transfer credits to meet course requirements as long as the course is in a subject area offered at Neumont.

Credit by Examination
For credit by examination of equivalent Neumont degree courses, students may request to take a competency test for that specific course. More detailed information is available in the Student Handbook.
Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate Acceptance Policy
Neumont may award credit for Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations. For detailed information, please see the Student Handbook.
Military Credit
Neumont evaluates military experience for college credit, based upon the Joint Services Transcript (JST) and Air Force transcripts.
The JST has replaced the Coast Guard Institute Transcript, the Army/American Council on Education Registry Transcript System (AARTS) and the Sailor/Marine American Council on Education Registry Transcript (SMART). JST is an academically accepted document approved by the American Council on Education (ACE) to validate a service member's military occupational experience and training along with the corresponding ACE college credit recommendations. ACE supplies data that populates the JST and performs quality checks on the transcript.
Only courses, training or military experience that fulfill Neumont's general education requirement categories are evaluated from official JST or Air Force transcripts. Neumont follows the ACE recommendations for military transfer credits.
