Alcohol and Substance Abuse Statement
The institution does not permit or condone the use or possession of alcohol, marijuana, or any other illegal drug, narcotic, or controlled substance by students or employees while on school premises. Alcohol is only permitted in designated areas in the student housing program in compliance with state and local laws. Please refer to the House and Residence Life Rules and Regulations Handbook for more details.
In accordance with the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Amendments of 1989 (Public Law 101-226), the following policy is in effect:
Students found in violation of the unlawful possession, use, or distribution of drugs or alcohol on campus, or as any part of the institution’s activities, are subject to disciplinary sanctions from the school.
Students must comply with all local, state, and federal laws. Students should also be aware that the use of illicit drugs and the abuse of alcohol are dangerous to personal health and present an additional risk for pregnant women and their unborn children.
Drug and alcohol counseling referrals are available to students through the Office of Student Affairs. Individuals needing treatment or rehabilitation are referred to an appropriate community resource. Neumont does not assume the responsibility for the cost or effectiveness of such treatment or rehabilitation.
